Australian sovereignty
Infrastructure owned and run in Australia, so Australian data, decisions and capability stay under Australian control.
Open SI is building the operating systems that superintelligence runs on. Open, locally hosted and efficient, so the capability stays in Australian hands and the benefits reach everyone.
Principles
Superintelligence will shape how we work, learn and live. The infrastructure underneath it should be open, accountable and built for the people who rely on it.
Infrastructure owned and run in Australia, so Australian data, decisions and capability stay under Australian control.
Models and services that run on local hardware, close to the people who use them, instead of being rented from overseas clouds.
Doing more with less. Lean software and careful use of hardware and energy, because efficiency is a design goal, not an afterthought.
Open by design, so communities, small businesses and individuals can share in the benefits, not just the biggest players.
The operating layer
Raw models are only part of the picture. Open SI focuses on the operating systems that superintelligence leverages: the layer that connects models, tools, data and hardware, and keeps them running reliably on infrastructure we control.
Open SI is founded by Brandan McMurtrie in Australia. It is an early project, and this page is the first step.
Roadmap
Here is what we are working towards. Plans may change as the project grows.
